William Wilberforce, the pioneering campaigner against slavery, was MP for Hull. His birthplace, Wilberforce House, is now a museum in the city.

Hull is home to the UK’s most commercially successful Millennium project – The Deep. It has has welcomed a huge number of visitors since opening.
