An insight into SoLO
We’re really passionate about supporting local charities & organisations in the areas where we have restaurants. Our restaurant teams have chosen worthy local charities to support during our Fundraising Fortnight initiative. SoLo was chosen by our Touchwood team & we’ve asked for an insight into the charity & how the money raised during Fundraising Fortnight will be used.
From Janet Down – Chief Executive Officer, Solihull Life Opportunities (SoLO)
“Firstly, I want to say a heartfelt thank you to all the staff who are taking part in the handmade burger Co. Fundraising Fortnight. It is really great to hear about all of the events that are happening and the efforts that people are going to in support of local causes.
The money raised in the Touchwood branch of handmade burger Co. in Solihull will go directly to support local families who have a son or daughter with a learning disability. Solihull Life Opportunities gives children and adults with a learning disability the opportunity to make friends, spend time with them away from their families, learn new skills, gain independence and confidence and generally have a lot of fun! Any funds generated will help pay for trips out, transport for those who are unable to travel independently, specialist training for staff to work with those who have complex medical needs and volunteer expenses.
Our organisation depends on donations from the general public and this contribution will make a significant difference to the lives of our members.
THANK YOU!”
