Kae and Keith would like to thank everyone who sponsored them from the Tring, Halifax, and Gloucester offices. They would also like to thank all the external sponsors including Broadway Gardens.

Well done to participants Kae Bloor and Keith Hughes not forgetting our in-house beauticians Rachel Jones and Jenny Rollason.

The benefits of installing mains fed water coolers

While a bottled water cooler can be just as effective as a mains fed water cooler, there are several benefits to a mains fed water cooler that may help you decide which is most suitable for you.

Installing a mains fed water cooler means you don’t have to worry about deliveries, lifting bottles onto the cooler, moving the bottles to store them away, or think about using up the bottle before discarding it.

Mains fed units work by using the water from your main supply and filtering it into pure fresh drinking water, which is completely safe.

Depending on your settings you can get instant chilled or ice cold water- something that you are not guaranteed from drinking from a tap.

A water cooler is a more professional solution for your business; it gives off the right impression to employees and visitors. Many people would feel more comfortable drinking from a water cooler than drinking straight from the kitchen tap.

Some companies offer mains fed coolers for as little as £6 per week and reliable companies offer the cooler at a pay as you go package, which means you only pay for what you use and when you use it. This can be particularly useful to businesses who are unsure how successful the water cooler will be and how often it will be used.

If you have limited office space, you may be concerned as to how much room a water cooler would take up. Selected companies do offer under the sink coolers that are a lot less bulky than bottle and mains fed coolers. These are suitable for home owners and businesses; it can be installed as a traditional sink system or under the counter with a separate dispenser tap. Chiller units are also an optional extra, depending on how cold you want your water to be.

Counter top coolers are also very useful if you have little space to give up, they are obvious to guests and are small, compact and look stylish on a counter top. They aren’t bulky and still provide you with chilled water instantly. Their compact size doesn’t mean that you compromise on quality or usability as they work the same as larger water coolers.

Hydrate your staff with an office water cooler

Hydrating your staff can mean they feel motivated, alert and energetic. It will not only benefit them, but also your business and the quality of the work produced.  The effects of not drinking enough water can leave you lethargic, which isn’t a good prospect for any member of your team.

According to ehow.com many people live in a state of dehydration and don’t realise it. The official recommendation is 8-10 glasses of water per day, which should be spread across the whole day. Not only does dehydration affect you at work, it can also result in underlying health problems that you may not necessarily associate with your irregular drinking pattern. Installing a water cooler in your office will automatically encourage your employees to drink more water just by being there.

Better hydration is also said to boost concentration levels, productivity and even decrease sickness and absence days from your staff, so you are not  only allowing your staff to be more efficient, but also keeping them fit and healthy

If you still aren’t convinced, you may be able to locate a company that will allow you to trial a water cooler in your office. Then you can see the results for yourself before committing to a monthly package.

Not only does a water cooler benefit your staff, but it looks professional to clients and customers, as well as providing them with an easy access source to a refreshing drink without having to be made uncomfortable by asking for one.

Water coolers can be tailored to your office and space availability. They can be stand-alone bottled water or be mains fed, under the sink or counter top. If you are concerned about glass availability, many companies can supply you with disposable cups or sports water bottles alongside your cooler.

If you think your staff will waste the water or it may not be used as often as you like, some companies also offer a pay as you go tariff, where you pay for the water that you use each month, limiting waste of water and money.

By telling the company your space, staff numbers and budget, you can tailor your package around your company, making sure that you don’t pay for water that is going unused each month.

Choose a company that is prepared to negotiate services and prices to tailor your monthly cost to your business, by choosing a company with free delivery and installation, it will also mean that you are left hassle free in the process.

Make an office environment a happier one with an office water cooler

Supplying your employees with water is something that is often overlooked, perhaps thinking that employees should be responsible for their own supply of drinks at work. However, unbeknown to many employers, keeping your staff hydrated can have huge benefits for your company.

A hydrated employee is more likely to be focused with a high morale and better mental and physical efficiency. It is also said that keeping your employees properly hydrated will mean they have less sick and absence days, something that costs the UK thousands every year. Make your business stand out from the crowd by being able to boast that your company has the best employees with the least sick days and absences.

Not only does it reflect well in the employee’s behaviour, but it also reflects well on you as an employer and also gives off a good impression to visitors, clients or customers. Having a water cooler in your reception area to welcome visitors makes you look professional; it also makes sure that your visitor is catered for without having to worry about it. It also eradicates any awkward situations where the visitor may have to go and ask for a drink.

First impressions of your business are extremely important, as it will give a lasting impression and something that your visitor will remember. Make a positive impression by catering properly for your visitor and making them as comfortable and catered for as possible.

Looking professional means that you are already half way there in creating a great impression to your visitor may it be a client or perhaps an investor.

A constant water supply will also have a knock on effect with your employees- a hydrated employee will be happier and have enough energy to be enthusiastic about working- which means you are creating the right impression of your business.

Water cooler users can vary from hotels and hospitality businesses to call centres, colleges, universities, hospitals, offices and dealerships. Whatever type of business or organisation you are, a water cooler will suit you. Even if you don’t see your staff drinking much water at work, the presence of a water cooler in the office will automatically encourage people to use it and remind your employees to be hydrated.
