Another double podium result for Frank Wrathall

Frank Wrathall and the Dynojet team were once again in celebrations this weekend after another successful performance in round eight of the BTCC at the Rockingham circuit, claiming two podium wins and a record breaking lap time.

Following his performance at Knockhill, Frank topped the tables in Saturdays first free practice session setting a remarkable lap time of which championship leaders Gordon Shedden, Matt Neal and Jason Plato were unable to match.

Securing another seventh place start on the grid for race one on Sunday, the orange and black Angel branded Toyota Avensis set a new BTCC lap record on the 1.94 – mile Northamptonshire speedway finishing in a point scoring third place.

From seventh Frank made up ground quickly on the opening lap after a tardy getaway on the grid, “It was a bad start – too many revs and too much wheel spin off the line; where I was starting from was a bit damp and I struggled a bit because of that. My plan had been to hold station at the start and to keep it tight. It worked out that I just had to get stuck in and get involved, take my chances…” said the 24 year old who is sponsored by Angel Springs, the UK’s leading supplier of both bottled and mains fed water coolers.

As many in front clashed and fell by the wayside, Wrathall survived the chaos of the opening lap – which included a hefty thump in the rear of the Avensis at the Brook chicane – to hold on to seventh. He picked up sixth on lap three and then demoted Matt Neal’s Honda next time around to secure fifth. It was on this tour that he set the best lap of the race, 1m 24.550s, a tenth inside the circuit record.

The Vauxhall of James Nash fell victim to the terrific Toyota into the Deene hairpin on lap six, and then Frank spent 14 laps bottled up behind Gordon Shedden’s third-placed Honda. “Shedden seemed to be struggling more than anyone; that allowed Matt to catch back up and that put pressure on me to get past Gordon. I came off worst in a bit of a tussle with both of them,” commented Frank.

Having regained fourth from Neal after a lap on his tail, Wrathall then stormed past Shedden in a brave penultimate lap late-braking manoeuvre into Deene: “I was able to take my chance and get back past Matt, and then I had to be a bit brave on the brakes to get Gordon.” Added Frank: “We’ve done a lot of work getting the Toyota good on the brakes and that I think is where we have the biggest advantage over the cars around us.” From then on third place was a certainty for Wrathall and Dynojet Racing; Jason Plato’s Chevrolet took the win, 10.4s ahead of Wrathall.

Wrathall praised the Toyota’s balance: “When the race settled down the car just came to me; it was absolutely mega all the way to the end. I could do pretty much what I wanted with it, it was spot-on.”

Race two provided further success, with not only a third victory of the season for Frank in the Independents class but also second place overall, the best placing so far for a ‘Next Generation Touring Car’.

Frank started third and, after a hesitant start, clawed his way back to fourth spot by the end of the opening lap. Third place fell into his clutches on lap four when he dispatched the Chevrolet of Paul O’Neill into Deene and then, two laps later, he pounced on reigning champion Plato to secure second.

Wrathall spent the duration of the race harrying leader Shedden for all he was worth, but the Honda man held his narrow advantage to the line, crossing it just 0.38s ahead.

“Obviously I wanted to get past Gordon and take the win,” said Frank, “but I had a bit of breathing space and time to weigh up the situation… In the passing places I just wasn’t quite quick enough compared to Gordon. I think he had it under control but it was nice to run him so close. We are getting closer all the time; the Toyota is just absolutely fantastic and I’m having fun.”

Frank rounded off his impressive Rockingham weekend with a points-scoring finish – his sixth on the trot – in the ‘reverse grid’ finale, in which he started ninth with his Avensis laden with 36kg of success ballast, and finished ninth.

“It was a bit of a struggle because of the extra weight and the effect it had on my straight line speed; it made it hard to pass anyone, so I couldn’t make as much progress as I did in the earlier races. The weight affected the handling of the car as well as the speed; 36 kilos is a big lump and it’s the first time we’ve run that heavy. It was always going to be tough but we got the car to the finish, and in the points.

“It’s been an absolutely mega day, better than Knockhill and the best of the year so far because we’ve been quicker here.”

Frank ends the weekend a place higher in the overall championship standings – 11th – and ninth among the Independent drivers.

Frank Wrathall says “Bring on Rockingham!!”

After a double podium finish at Knockhill two weeks ago the rising star sponsored by Angel Springs the UK’s leading supplier of both bottled and mains fed water coolers, is focused on following suit and racing to glory this weekend at Rockingham race circuit, Northamptonshire.

The semi-oval track will be more suitable for the NGTC Toyota Avensis, giving Frank yet another opportunity to showcase his top ten speed. Frank has previously won two of the Ginetta G50 races at Rockingham, so is thrilled to be racing there as a BTCC driver.

“We have had a lot of DNFs this year, a lot of problems and have been through some tough times. It’s been an incredible roller-coaster of a year. The low points have been terrible, I’ll make no secret, but every time we have had a set-back the whole team has dug deep and we have bounced back. Getting to the podium makes it all worth while.” comments the 24 year old.

He goes onto say “We were good at Snetterton and good at Knockhill, and if we can go well at those two tracks then we should be strong for the remaining circuits this year.”  “It will be nice to get to Rockingham, which is fast, flowing and smooth, as are Brands Hatch and Silverstone; all three should suit the Toyota. Bring it on.”

Be sure to look out for Frank and his Angel branded car, live this Sunday on ITV4 and ITV4 HD from 11:30am to 6pm with highlights on later ITV1.

……..Go Frank!!!

Angel Springs support the Overgate Hospice 30th Anniversary Midnight Walk

Angel Springs the UK’s leading supplier of bottled and mains-fed water coolers, helped more than 500 people stay hydrated during a midnight walk to raise money for a Halifax hospice this month.

The Overgate Hospice is celebrating 30 years of helping the local community in Calderdale. But it needs almost £35,000 a week to continue providing palliative care for life-limited patients in the area.

On September 10, more than 500 people took part in a 13-mile midnight walk to raise much-needed funds to support the hospice’s work.

Angel Springs helped out by supplying 200 bottles of pure spring water for the walkers to drink.

The event, held at North Bridge Leisure Centre, is the latest Overgate fundraiser to be supported by Angel Springs, which signed up as an official corporate member of the hospice after supplying bottled water for a 10k fundraising run in April.

Lauren Ingram Events Fundraiser for the hospice provided the following statement, “I would like to say a massive thank you to Angel Springs who supported the Overgate Hospice Midnight Walk, we hope the event will raise over £40,000 enabling our nurses to continue the care for local people of Calderdale.

The weather stayed fine all night and everyone seemed to be in great spirits even if the route was a little challenging. We had so much local support and couldn’t have done the event without the help of kind companies like Angel Springs who donated the water for walkers. We look forward to welcoming even more walkers next year!”

“We’re delighted to be associated with Overgate Hospice, which provides a vital service for life-limited patients, and their families, in the Calderdale area,” said Angel Springs commercial director John Murphy.

“Overgate Hospice is close to our offices in Elland and it was an easy decision for us to get involved in supporting its work. Angel Springs is committed to corporate social responsibility and takes pride in helping this very worthy cause to raise money to fund its vital services in the local area.”

In addition to our nightly performances we appeared on established Fringe chat show Edinburgh Tonight after being scouted by one of their hosts.”

“This production was crucial for us: a testing ground for our work both as an artistic endeavour and as a start-up business, and an essential first showcase in a hugely competitive environment.  We’re glad to say that we’ve achieved our goals and learnt a lot.  And we couldn’t have done any of it without the generous support of Angel Springs.”

HOTLY TIPPED

” Flood have the best British gift in comedy… full of ideas  …  Flood show signs that there are going to be some interesting things on the horizon. As a group they work well together and they create some hard, funny, and stupid sketches that are well performed  …  there are going to be some pretty memorable sketches from this group.”

The New Current

“A cruel comedy and a fusion of sketch show, detective story and tragedy  …  anti-comedy  …  surreal to the nth degree  …  It was quick paced, it was totally different  …  I guess you will either love this or totally hate it …  absurd, experimental style.”

How your family can benefit from the use of a water cooler

For most of the country, there has been insecurity when it comes to their family drinking water from the tap; more so when previous allegations were made of the chlorine levels in the water; many chose to drink the bottled water.

What about a water cooler in the home? Some would find it unusual to find a water cooler somewhere like the home, when we are so used to seeing them in the workplace office, but what benefits does having one hold for a family?

Well, to begin – it would be a lot cheaper than having to buy bottles of water every day of the year. If you think about how much a 2l bottle of water costs from the supermarket 60p a bottle; you stand to spend £219 a year approx.   A basic bottle-less water dispenser will be able to save you a lot of money to spend on something else.

There is a huge health benefit included in buying a water cooler for the family – when the water is going through the Water Treatment Facilities across the country; the water goes through many stages of water treatment in order to clear out the impurities that return with it. The water contained in water coolers goes through a carbon based filter, drawing out the chlorine and other bad chemicals that are found in the water mains so that your family are in less of a threat whilst drinking water.

Water coolers are available in various brand, types – bottled, mains fed or counter top  – and also vary in sizes, which means that families who are money conscious or are not sure what kind they want are able to browse around in shops or online and be able to find the type that they feel is best; of course there is no difference in the process of water filtering, its more about water type and size you want will determine the overall price of the unit itself.   It is because of their bespoke design that means when you come to buying your own for the whole family, it is easy enough to try and find one that has a similar colouring or design features that it can blend into the room you want it in without becoming too much of an eyesore for you when you have guests over.

Water coolers are very family friendly – they are built with smooth edges and stable.  The filtering system is hidden behind the front so no small fingers can fiddle or get caught in it, and the only thing that children would need to do is push the button for the water to come out straight into their cups for a fresh and healthier drink.

The benefits of a hot water boiler for employee productivity

There are many advantages of installing a hot water boiler in the office kitchen. A hot water boiler is self-explanatory in that this kitchen appliance will boil hot water straight from the tap. There are however, differences between a kettle or hot water dispenser. The ease and convenience of having instant piping hot water at any time from a hot water boiler makes this appliance a true blessing. The amount of time, money and energy saved from waiting on water to boil is invaluable, especially in the busy and hectic work environment. Hot water boilers are useful for mixing oatmeal, making sauces, soups, noodles, pasta, and of course the usual beverages like tea, hot chocolate and coffee.

When working in an office or any other environment, nobody can afford to waste time, yet much of an employee’s time is squandered in the kitchen waiting for the kettle to do its job so that they can get on with their job! If you were to install a hot water boiler in the office, not only would a vast amount of time be saved but also energy and cost. Fast-paced working should be matched with a fast paced hot water boiler.

Unlike a kettle, both wall-mounted or table top hot water boilers are connected to existing plumbing and provide an endless supply of water. In addition to saving money on your electricity bill they are also energy efficient. Depending on the model hot water boilers can provide from 140 to 180 cups of boiling water an hour, thus removing the need for continual boiling of a kettle, saving valuable time and electricity over traditional office hot water supplies. As they have extremely insulated hot tanks they can be left on throughout the day and even during the weekend without having to use extra energy to heat a stove or run a microwave.

Most hot water dispensers are available in attractive sleek and modern styles that are easy to maintain and clean. Access to clean water it always important and some tanks holding the water grow bacteria within emitting unpleasant odours and tastes. The filtration system that is built into the hot water boiler not only provides the best tasting water for hot beverages but it also reduces the build-up of scale ensuring you never get any scum on the top of your drink. As the boiling water is used up the unit automatically refills with water however, the amount of water boiling and its temperature can be manually controlled to suite the individual. The hot water boiler dispenses water from a tap or at the mere touch of a button whenever you want, the benefits of installing this appliance are endless.

The initial cost of purchase and installation of some hot water boilers may be high, but the added convenience and reduced energy costs makes them a worthwhile investment for any work place. Whether you have a small or large office, no one can deny the advantage of having a hot water boiler in the work place kitchen. This perfect appliance dispenses water with no mess or fuss so swapping the old kettle for a hot water boiler may not be such a bad idea.

Double podium finish for Frank Wrathall at Knockhill, Fife!

Frank Wrathall has once again secured a memorable victory and maximum Independent points this weekend, with a double podium finish at the seventh round of the British Touring Car Championships 2011 at the well-known Knockhill race track in Fife, Scotland.

The weekend marked yet another milestone for promising driver Frank and the Dynojet team, after an outstanding performance on Saturday’s qualifying rounds despite poor weather conditions.

After securing a well-deserved third place on the grid for the race one, Frank finished fourth due to early contact in the opening laps, but was able to clearly demonstrate the top 10 pace of the NGTC Toyota Avensis making his presence felt by BTCC leaders Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden.

Starting from fourth on the grid in race two the 24 year old Lancastrian quickly took third position after taking advantage of an error made by the Focus of Tom Chilton, which allowed the famous orange and black Avensis to apply pressure to the leading Hondas in front.

After crossing the line in third place the rising star sponsored by Angel Springs, the UK’s longest established Water Cooler Company, took his place on the podium to celebrate his Independent class victory for the best finish and fastest lap for a car built to the NGTC regulations.

Frank commented, “That is a massive result for us,” he said, “not just because we are on the podium, but because we showed we were as quick as anyone and were close to being able to take a victory.”

Race three saw the Toyota start from fifth place due to the ‘reverse grid’ draw. Frank held a strong fifth until securing an early fourth place position when Chevrolet’s Plato went off the track in lap four. Frank then bided his time until cleverly moving into third place, again taking out race one winner Tom Chilton at Scotsman corner successfully finishing in third and taking his second podium position of the weekend.

Delighted with the weekends results Frank had these comments,

“I really feel like I’m a BTCC driver after this weekend,” said Frank. “We mixed it towards the front of the field in all three sessions on Saturday despite changing weather conditions and then we’ve been right in the mix throughout race day. Taking two podium finishes – and setting a fastest lap – is a fantastic achievement for the team at this stage of the programme and it shows that the result we picked up at Snetterton last month was no fluke.

“We’ve worked so hard this season and have taken large strides with the car; now we are making refinements to the package. The car felt really good all day and I’ll be more than happy if the car I had today is the car I have for the remainder of the season.”

The benefits of pure filtered water compared to water straight from the tap

Drinking sufficient amounts of water has become a recent fitness craze for people searching for the greatest health benefits. Tap water has long been the main source of hydration for consumers but companies that sell bottled water are rapidly expanding to meet supply demands.

The only way to ensure drinking water is pure and contaminant-free is by using a filtration system. A water filtration system removes more dangerous contaminants than any other purification method.

Bacteria are commonly found in the home water supply as local water treatment facilities cannot guarantee the control of bacterial contaminants in the water. Not all bacteria are harmful but filtered water eliminates the chance of a dangerous bacterial outbreak. Cryptosporidium, bacteria regularly found in tap water, can affect the digestive tract which eventually suppresses the immune system.

Filtering water lets you control the quality of your drinking water. When you know what is in your water then you feel happy about drinking it. The taste of regular tap water can be affected by chemicals such as chlorine. Using a filter will purify the taste and acts as the last line of defence between the body and the impurities existing in water.

A filtered water system allows you to get the most health benefits out of water. The levels of toxins in tap water compromise the health benefits of the water. Regulating water through a filtered system removes most impurities before you drink them. Any steps to reduce the contamination in your water supply will be beneficial to your family’s well-being.

Lead exposure is one of the greatest health hazards associated with drinking unfiltered water. Tap water in your home water supply is treated but as it travels to your house it can pick up traces of lead.

Using pure filtered water in place of tap water for cooking is healthier as the number of toxins and metallic particles are reduced. Cooking at high temperatures destroys bacterial organisms found in water but some foods are not cooked at high enough temperatures or cooked long enough to destroy all bacteria.

Water Coolers dispense filtered water at chilled or ambient temperatures and are an accessible source for clean water.  Drinking water coolers are ideal for places like gyms, schools and offices where high usage is likely. The availability and convenience of fresh, chilled water is improved with water dispensers.

There are benefits for drinking purified water irrespective of the filtration method. Running water through a filter can eliminate substances such as chlorine and other excess minerals, thus improving the taste and smell of water. Clean and healthy water is essential to children’s mental and physical development.  Knowing what is in the water that you drink is important and using pure filtered water lets you control your well-being.

Healthy body, healthy mind – how you can stay happy and healthy in the work place

Last year around 1.3 million working people suffered from an illness they believed was caused or intensified by their current or past job. Unhappiness and stress in the work place is common and this article offers you some tips on maintaining health and happiness at work.

Establishing a stable routine is an obvious way to improve your well-being at work. Working regular hours and taking consistent breaks means your body is accustomed to following a pattern. When constant irregularities are occurring in your daily work life your body will suffer. Use flexitime to adjust your working day to suitable hours as over working causes stress.

Your everyday work environment has to be comfortable. If you use a shared working area then always adjust your chair, desk and computer to suit you. The time spent on fixing your personal work space minimizes discomfort and fatigue. Injuries in the workplace aren’t uncommon with ever increasing cases of work-related strains. It is important to create a safe and comfortable work area that promotes productivity. Poor ventilation, lighting and seating are detrimental to health.

Working in a great team will boost your desire to be at work. Treat colleagues with the respect and consideration you would like to receive. It is the employer’s responsibility to ensure employees have the motivation to go into work. A healthy work atmosphere is built by productive teamwork where all employees work together to achieve common goals and success. Don’t isolate yourself and encourage yourself to join in out of work gatherings.

Being happy in the work place is linked to being healthy. It is thought that a healthy person copes better at work as job stress fundamentally affects our physical and mental well-being. A good lifestyle that involves regular exercise makes you feel good and boosts your energy levels. Bringing that energy to work will contribute to a positive atmosphere and allow you to manage stress. As well as regular physical exercise, it is important to get adequate sleep.

Eating healthily at work is a huge contributing factor to being happy. Lunches should contain a balanced diet of carbohydrates, vegetables, salads and fruits. It is best to make your own lunch to reduce the temptation of buying fast food alternatives that are usually featured in work place canteens. Increasingly, corporate companies are offering healthier lunches. Another tip to avoid bad health is to reduce tea and coffee drinks.

You should drink a lot of water throughout the day to maintain a healthy body and mind. Dehydration causes headaches, damages the immune system and contributes to loss of concentration. Most offices today use water coolers to provide fresh and chilled water for its employees. Office water dispensers encourage staff to drink more water therefore improving health and energy.

To sustain health at work you need to combine exercise and healthy eating that includes drinking plenty of water. You need to work regular hours in a positive environment that is safe and comfortable.
