Evander wins deal of the year - over 50,000 sq ft at the prestigious IAS awards 2012
420,000 sq ft Regional Distribution Centre Pre-let to Waitrose at Matrix Park in Chorley takes top prize in fiercely competitive category sponsored by DP World London Gateway.
Award is further recognition of Evander’s growing reputation as one of the UK’s leading specialists in logistics, property development and asset management. The Industrial Agents Society (IAS) is Europe’s largest professional body of advisers and consultants specialising in industrial, distribution and related logistics real estate.
On the 27th September at a luncheon to celebrate their Annual Awards, the Industrial Agents Society awarded Evander Properties “Deal of the Year over 50,000 sq ft” for its 420,000 sq ft pre-let to Waitrose at Matrix Park, In Chorley Lancashire. In making the award the judging panel - comprised of a number of highly regarded industrial property experts - commented “The winning entry represents a fantastic and creative achievement in light of current market conditions. A strong asset was created for the fund and a superb building was constructed for the occupier – a worthy winner in an excellent category”
On receiving the award, Evander Managing Director Jeremy Greenland said : “Evander Properties business model is to acquire well located, serviced employment land, secure planning consent and respond immediately to occupiers requirements. This was exemplified at Matrix Park, Chorley by developing Waitrose a new state of the art 420,000 sq ft Regional Distribution Centre. This transaction was not only the largest distribution pre-let in the UK during 2012 but also stood out because of the 30 year lease and rent review provisions. A 30 years commitment is far in excess of today’s pre-let market and provides BAPTL with comfort of fixed rental increases and a 5A1 tenant.”
